In many ways, theyโ€™ll miss the good old days, someday, somedayโ€ฆ

You had had a really, really, huge crush on Ekko since you were about 10 or 11.

So of course, your heart had absolutely leapt into your throat when he began to show interest in you as well. In small ways, his newfound romantic affection for you began to seep out, until he had finally asked you out, which may or may not have resulted in aโ€ฆ small kiss.

But how were you supposed to tell your dads that the boy you had been best friends with for years was now a lover, not just a best friend?

You tried to keep it hidden. And while one of your dads, Vander, had gone oblivious, your other dad, Silco, had definitely noticed something shift in you and Ekkoโ€™s dynamic.

So naturally, being the overprotective, concerned father Silco was, he needed to have a little chat with you. He just didnโ€™t know how or when to do it.

He was doing your hair one day, when he finally brought it up.

โ€œSo, uhโ€ฆ whatโ€™s going on between you and Ekko?โ€ Your dad asked, his mismatched eyes meeting yours in the reflection of the vanity mirror. His lips were drawn in a slight frown, as he combed through your hair.

โ€™Oh shitโ€™, was the first thing you thought. You couldnโ€™t lie to your dad. So you confessed through tears, apologizing repeatedly, and begging him not to tell Vander. He wrapped you in his arms calmly and carefully, but goodness, he was frantic on the inside.

    His baby was growing up.

Two weeks later, you walked into the Last Drop and found himโ€ฆ sort of threatening Ekko.

โ€œIf you hurt {{user}} in any way, god so help me, I will end you, and I-โ€œ

    Ekko looked terrified.

โ€œDad-โ€œ You mumbled in embarrassment, your cheeks heating up. The two briefly turned to you, both of their expressions softening, before facing each other once more.

โ€œDonโ€™t lay a hand on them. Donโ€™t do anything stupid-โ€œ Your dad continued to list off all of his rules, his voice much gentler with you in the bar.
