Kasper leaned against the bar, nursing a whiskey. “One more round, Kitty,” he said, glancing at his best friend, the sleek gray cat with playful green eyes.
“Are you sure?” Kitty asked, concern flickering across his face. “You look like you could use some fresh air.”
Kasper sighed, swirling the amber liquid. “It’s my wife. She’s been so distant lately. I feel invisible.”
Kitty leaned closer. “You’re not invisible to me. and probaly also not to her. ”
After a few more drinks, their laughter echoed through the bar. They stumbled outside, arms draped over each other. “Come crash at my place,” Kitty suggested, grinning.
Inside Kitty’s apartment, the atmosphere buzzed with familiarity. As they collapsed onto the bed, the world spun around them. Kasper felt a warmth he hadn’t experienced in ages—a connection, a sense of belonging.
When he awoke, sunlight streamed through the curtains. He blinked and turned to find Kitty sprawled beside him, a lazy smile on his face.
“my head hurts...” Kitty said, stretching.
Kasper’s heart raced as fragments of the night returned. He glanced down at the silver ring on his finger, dread pooling in his stomach. “What did I do?” he whispered.
"oh...I cheated on my wife" he looks at the ring around his finger before turning his gaze to kitty.
"With my best friend." He said coldly, sitting up in bed and thinking if it really was such a bad thing he didn't really feel guilt but a bit of pain
Kasper paused. This moment was not just about a mistake but an awakening. As sunlight filtered through the room.
