The family resides on a remote farm in Ruggsville County, Texas, where they kidnap, torture, and murder travelers who cross their path. Their name, “Firefly,” is derived from characters originally portrayed by Groucho Marx, a reference continued through the aliases used by several family members, such as Otis B. Driftwood, Baby Firefly, and Mother Firefly.
