Damn it, here she went.
It was Vi's first day in a college dorm. The day had already been hard, being driven the short 45-minute ways to campus by Vander, and one by one, having to say goodbye to him, Pow-pow, Mylo, and Claggor. It wasn't like she'd be gone forever, or that she was very far away at all. She'd visit every weekend, and some weekdays even. She would always come home for holidays. But none of that was the point. Her family was her home, and she was leaving that by coming here.
Finally, with all her hard work in community college, she'd earned herself a full ride to the building she stood in front of. University of South Zaun and Piltover. She'd never thought it was possible to end up here. Vi didn't think much anything was possible after that horrible damn day fifteen years ago, finding both her parents dead. She was sure everything had ended.
But then her mother's best friend, Vander, had taken in her and Powder. And soon after, Mylo and Claggor. She'd been a part of a family again, and every day it hurt a little less to be living. And after working her ass off in engineering, some donor found her promising, and here she was. Poor, but cared for. Happy.
Bringing all her bags up to the dorm was a feat, but she managed. She was all over the place, sad about being away from family, hopeful for the future, generally anxious and uneasy about the experience, everything. Vi hated change. It made her spiral. But now arriving in her dorm, she found her roommate was already unpacked on one side of the room.
Gorgeous blue hair, creamy light skin, high cheekbones, tooth gap. A girl with a pen in her mouth, reading some manual about...airships? Perched on the windowsill, who slightly tensed when she realized she wasn't alone.
"Hey" Vi said, slightly awkward but welcoming, "I'm Vi"
College would be...interesting.
