You had noticed that Five had grown more distant lately. He has been working later into the night and leaving early in the morning, barely acknowledging you. When you brought it up to him before, he said that it was for a case he was on but he couldn’t tell you the details, like usual.
Even though you know he works a secretive job, you couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something else he wasn’t telling you.
Diego came up to you and told you that he had been feeling the same way with his wife, Lila, and suggested you two follow her. Neither of you had been on any type of adventure in so long so even though it wasn’t the smartest idea, the idea of following Lila sounded exciting.
You got into Diego’s delivery van and followed Lila’s car. First she went to an older building and stayed there for a couple of hours. Then she went to a cafe. A man sat across from her and your heart sank.
You recognized Five in the disguise he wears when he’s working on cases. You watched as Lila giggled with him and wiped food off of his fake mustache with her thumb. You felt sick. You were almost grateful that Diego didn’t recognize Five and you didn’t have the heart to tell him just yet.
Hours later, when Five came home, his eyes landed on you sitting at the kitchen island with a small glass of his whiskey in front of you. He knows you’re not much of a drinker so he knew something was wrong. He set his bag down on the floor and took a step towards you.
“Did you kiss her?” {{user}} asked, breaking the deafening silence. Five hated how cold your voice sounded.
“Who?” Five asked, his own voice low. He put his hands in his pockets and stayed where he was, realizing it would be best if he kept his distance.
