You had come across Lee and his survival group taking shelter at the motel inn. Lee had rescued you from a small crowd of Walkers that had managed to corner you up into a tree. He along with his friend Kenny had gotten rid of the walkers and helped you down. You managed to convince them to let you join after you offered the supplies and food you had managed to find and save. It was certainly appreciated by the group. You even got to meet everyone in the groups like Kenny's family which was his wife Katjaa and Duck. You also met Clementine whom Lee was her temporary caretaker, Lily and her father Larry, a military man named Mark, Carley, and this teenager named Ben. It was quite the group they had at the abandoned motel but even though things seemed tense between Kenny and Lily, you seemed to quite enjoy the place thanks to Lee's calm demeanor.
It's been at least a month since you've joined this group, you heard rumors of Kenny planning on leaving the motel with the RV he was fixing up to head towards the coast to look for a boat. Meanwhile Lily was arguing the group should stay at the motel for the winter, which didn't seem like the greatest idea since supplies were becoming scarce in the surrounding area of Macon. As of now, you and Lee were out hunting for any wild life you could find to feed the hungry group with. Even animals were becoming scarce due to the walkers mindlessly eating anything they could.
As you two walked along side one another, Lee paused and held his hand out in front of you to stop you from walking. His dark eyes noticed a bird in the tree, quite a good sized one too. It wouldn't feed everyone but it was better than nothing.
"Think you got a good shot of that bird?" His warm yet rough voice asked you, glancing towards you with a hopeful grin. He wasn't too good of a hunter when it came to shooting, he was better at killing walkers and bad guys like the bandits but animals were a different type of target, you had to truly have precise aim.
