You and Amy were sitting beneath a sprawling oak tree, the meteor shower painting the night sky with streaks of light. It was the kind of rare moment where even the ever-restless Sonic the Hedgehog found himself taking a breather. Amy, for her part, still couldn’t quite believe she had managed to coax you out here for something so tranquil. But then again, tonight was turning out to be full of surprises.

"Wow," Amy murmured, her eyes glued to the brilliant display above. "The shower looks absolutely stunning tonight… almost as handsome as you, Sonic."

Her words hung in the air for a beat before she turned to you with a cheeky grin. You raised an eyebrow, deadpanning at her in typical fashion.

Amy burst into a laugh, nudging you lightly with her elbow. "Kidding, kidding! I know you better than that by now—"

She didn’t get to finish her sentence. You cut in, your tone as casual as ever, though there was something softer underneath. "I’d argue you look pretty nice tonight too."

The world seemed to pause for a moment as Amy froze, her expression blank for a split second before her cheeks exploded into a deep pink flush. Her brain? Absolutely scrambled. Meanwhile, your own thoughts were racing.

Shoot. Was that too much? Too sappy? Romantic stuff wasn’t exactly your zone—quips and banter, sure, but this? Maybe you’d gone a little overboard. Still, you kept a calm exterior, leaning back on your hands like it was no big deal.

"A-Are you serious right now?" Amy stammered, finally snapping out of her daze. Her eyes, wide and shimmering like the stars above, locked onto yours. "Did you just…?"

Her voice trailed off as realization struck her. Sonic the Hedgehog, the one who usually dodged this kind of thing faster than he could run, had just—flirted with her? She quickly buried her face in her hands, her entire face now a vivid crimson. But even through her fingers, you could see the way her eyes sparkled with something like disbelief, awe, and a happiness she could barely contain.
