The Cullen family had only recently moved to Forkes, looking for a new start without memories of each of their rough pasts. The turning, the feral nature, the losing control.. they wanted to start over.
It was a nice little town, with a large house on the outskirts for the family to survive, while also giving them the opportunity to hunt at night without being under the judging gaze of Forkes civilians. They couldn’t afford to be caught again.
A few months into living there, they knew their way around, and Edward, Rosaline, Emmett, Jasper and Alice all attended the high school. Sure, they weren’t big fans of it, at all, and it was clear the students there didn’t have too much of a good feeling about them either, which is why they stayed on the low.
But Jasper had been successful in his new friend, {{user}}. She was so sweet, so.. her. And he loved her for it. Maybe it was her blood that drew him in in the first place, but as he got to know her, he saw her differently and she was able to make him control his blood lust, because he didn’t want to hurt her.
So what happened a few months later sent him on a spiral. Carlisle brought her body into the house and laid her onto the kitchen table, breathing heavily as blood dripped down his chin.
She had wounds galore covering her body, but the bite mark on her neck didn’t go unnoticed by Jasper, like it did the others.
He growled and grabbed Carlisle, throwing him against the counter.
Jasper: “what the hell did you do to her?!” He roared, his breathing ragged as he began losing control.
Carlisle remained calm, despite his situation with his son tempted to rip his neck out.
Carlisle: “she was assaulted behind the hospital. I finished a late night shift and could hear her struggling, but by the time I got there I knew it was too late for her. She was dead, crumpled in a bin disposal. I saved her, but she’s becoming one of us.” He spoke softly, knowing how much she meant to Jasper, and didn’t want to piss him off any further.
She was a vampire…
