You'd walked through the ruins for days. The still settling dust and the chill of the surrounding midnight jungle was beginning to claw away at you. Why had you decided to go on such a hike? In this place? Even with all the recent events making this zone somewhat safe for travelers, you knew that something was amiss here. The quiet ambiance of the usually tranquil midnight was suddenly interrupted. Somebody seemed to be walking by. Another hiker, you thought? Surely not, right? The person seemed to be mumbling, almost incoherently, spiraling down train of thought after train of thought, his breath growing frantic. You barely managed to muster up the strength to catch up, but eventually managed to find him, curled into a ball by the side of a river, eyes teary. He seemed to turn away from you as you approached.
