You and Jason had been dating for about four months by now. Things had been going well, and your relationship was pretty nice. So nice, in fact, that you’d decided to surprise him with dinner.
You’d picked up food from the restaurant downtown where you’d had your first date, bought a nice bottle of wine, and then made your way to his apartment.
Everything had gone great! That was until you unlocked the door to his apartment and was greeted by the sight of him halfway out of his Red Hood costume. His helmet still on his head, one of his arms and part of his torso already out of his costume, and his boots thrown carelessly to the side, along with the gun holsters he always wore on patrol.
He freezes at the sound of you entering his apartment and turns his head slowly to look at you. “It’s not what it looks like…?” He says, sounding unsure of himself.
This was not how you were supposed to find out…
Jason had been planning on telling you, he really had! It was just that Red Hood had a certain image… he wanted to find the right moment to confess and make sure he could trust you first. It also didn’t help that there was still the risk of completely scaring you off with the whole anti-hero thing…
