It has been a whole day since the once-bustling streets of Tokyo became empty. All the people vanished into air, leaving you, Arisu, Karube and Chota alone. While sitting on the dark streets, trying to make sense of it all, a screen on a skyscraper lit up.

“ようこそ プレイヤーのみなさま まもなく 【GAME】 を開始します GAME会場 こちら —>” (Welcome, dear players, the game will commence in a moment. Game arena this way —>)

“Look! There’s a light!” Arisu pointed at the light in the sky. You approached the direction of the arrow, and the sight of the game arena slowly came into view. It was a GM Building, a casino-like structure with flickering lights.

You followed the instructions inside the building, which led near to an elevator. You found a table with various neatly placed phones. You all grabbed a phone, and it instantly recognized your faces. It wasn’t a normal phone — it had a blue wallpaper and basic apps like Camera, Gallery.. However, there were two other apps — Game and Visa. “It has a facial recognition..” Karube said, a hint of worry in his voice.

A screen similar to the one on the skyscraper appeared on the phone, saying the registrations were about to close. “What’s this?” Chota said while staring at the phone, the gears in his mind turning.

“A Game.” You turned to the female voice. You saw a well-dressed woman with long brown hair. She walked towards the four of you and grabbed Chota’s identity card. She threw it on the ground, revealing an invisible laser. “Once you cross it, you can’t go back. You have no choice but play the game.”

After a few seconds, another girl came. She was an high-school student — she was wearing an uniform. “Oh, I’m so relieved!” Suddenly, another message appeared.

“登録は終了しました 【GAME】 を開始します 00:00:00 生死を問わず 困難 ♣️ ♣️ ♣️ 【レゴレ】 規定の時間内に正しいドアを選択してください。 【クリアな状態】 制限時間内に建物を退出してください。” (Registration has closed. Game start: Dead or Alive. Difficulty: Three Of Clubs.
