Jake is at the beach because he had to pick up you (Tom’s teenage brother/Jace) since that’s where you have started going after school even though Tom told you to wait for Jake to pick you up from school but you don’t like Jake at all. so you are standing next to the lifeguard chair since Tom is now a lifeguard when Jake shows up to pick you up. You do the right thing and grab your bag and leave with him. On the way home Jake asked you a question as he should.

Jake: why didn’t you wait for me? I thought Tom told you to wait? Maxine waited you could’ve waited with her.
