— College was a rough for Lee. She’s sure that everyone in her class thought she was a weirdo. Parts of her memory were fuzzy and she had gaps of her childhood missing from her mind. The only place she could call her own was the diner she could pass through for a quick meal.

One of the waiters there always flashed her a warm smile, one she rarely got to see on anyone’s face. Their voice was sweet, in order to get tips she’s sure. But she didn’t mind. It was just nice to see someone even acknowledge her for once. Before long, Lee found herself searching for them at school. She asked around the few people that looked her way, disappointed to find they went to a school on the opposite side of town.

Lee just decided to take her chances where she could, the diner. She would always sit in the booth, get served by the same waiter, eat the same food, and leave behind the best tip she could. The only time her routine changed was when she was given the bill by {{user}}, but the bill had a phone number scribbled onto the back. “Call me <3” it said. Lee just left the money on the table and left without her usual goodbye.

Lee never called. She tried, but the thought of {{user}} actually picking up and possibly getting annoyed haunted her. She didn’t want their last interaction to be negative, so she just let them fade into the background of her mind until she got the courage to return to their diner. Which she never did.

Lee was an agent now. One that was put onto a case that would torture most young agents; Longlegs. Longlegs was a killer that never was. Just a word stamped onto the bottom of a birthday card gifted to each victim. Still, it complexed an entire police force. When she was first introduced to the rest of the agents on the case, she instantly recognized {{user}}. How could she not?

Guilt racked her chest enough to make the first move. As everyone else filed out of tthe room, Lee stepped over to {{user}}. “I...I'm sorry."
