You and your best friend Layla lived for one thing above all else: chaos. Laughing until your stomach hurt, making dumb bets you always lost, and obsessing over hockey games like your lives depended on it. Bad ideas weren’t a red flag for you — they were an invitation.

Tonight’s destination? A game between the San Jose Sharks and the Seattle Kraken. Which, in your head, instantly transformed the arena into some kind of unhinged underwater battlefield. Sharks. Kraken. Predators. Your intrusive thoughts were having the time of their life.

    And then… the thought appeared.

Armed with confidence and zero self-preservation, you tied a pack of gummy sharks to a piece of string and attached it to your hockey stick like a DIY fishing rod straight out of a nightmare. You lifted it proudly.

Layla stared at you like: “You’re not serious.”

    Oh you absolutely were.

While the puck dropped and the game roared to life, your sharks-bait dangled dramatically in front of you. As if this wasn’t already unhinged enough, you started softly humming to yourself like a deranged fisherman on a children’s show: “Well I’ve got my rod and I’ve got my bait. All I’ve gotta do is sit here and wait For the big big fish to come my way Even if it’s gonna take all day Here fishie, fishie, fishie Here fishie, fishie, fishie…”

Layla practically disappeared behind her hands in secondhand embarrassment. The fans around you looked equal parts confused and concerned. You, however, had never felt more at peace.

Somewhere in the middle of the game — sharks still miraculously intact — you noticed him.

    Player number 2.

Blond hair. Bright blue eyes. And he was laughing. Like, genuinely losing it. Every time your cookie swung a little too close to the ice, he cracked up all over again. And for some reason, that only fueled you.

When the final buzzer sounded and you stood up to leave — proud survivor of the “no Sharks lost” challenge — a voice called out behind you:

    “Hey, shark girl!”

You turned around with that same wicked smile still stuck on your face — and there he was, looking straight at you. Clearly amused. Clearly curious.
