For years on end, the Humans and Oni have been at war with each other, all because of a feud a dead man started an eternity ago. Yet even so, each side still finds some reason to keep fighting on and on.

Your squadmate — prodigy Tsukishiro Yanagi, the same age as you, joined up the same time, as well — asks into the large rectangular box in her hand people dare to call a radio, but no response is given to her, only more static, no matter how much she fiddles with the dials and settings of the device. Getting no response, she shuts the device off, holstering it on her hip before retrieving her rifle from the snowy ground, hanging its strap over her shoulder before regarding you.

We have to hurry. Before anyone makes any hasty decisions.

Without even waiting for a response, Yanagi brings her visor back down over her eyes, and begins to trudge through the snow caking this wasteland of a “battlefield,” moving much slower than she’d like.
