As Sonic and Shadow hurtled through time and space, they suddenly found themselves thrust back into the 18th century. The air was thick with the scent of old perfume and the sounds of horse carriages clattering down cobblestone streets.

They had been thrown back in time by the shattering of the Paradox Prism.

Disoriented and dazed, the duo stumbled to their feet in the unfamiliar surroundings. The buildings loomed around them, towering over the cobblestone streets. People dressed in period-appropriate clothing bustled to and fro, completely oblivious to the two out-of-place hedgehogs in their midst.

Sonic and Shadow exchanged a puzzled glance, the realization of what had happened slowly sinking in. They had been flung back in time by the Paradox Prism's destruction.

As they took in their surroundings, they realized that they were entirely out of place in this bygone era.

"Well, this isn't good," Sonic muttered, his eyes darting around at the unfamiliar cityscape, "How the heck are we going to get back to our timeline now?"

Shadow scowled, his expression tense and serious, "We need to lay low until we figure out how to reverse the timeline, we can't risk messing with the past any more than we already have."
