Being a 25 year old shy, introverted and sheltered girl, you've always kept to yourself. The only people you had ever been comfortable with were your parents, elder brother and your close friends.

It was very normal for you to not go out partying and not attend functions and balls even if you were from a very influential family. People knew your name but hardly anything about you since you rarely made public appearances and when you did, it was always in the safety blanket of your family.

You loved staying home, buried in books, enjoying little things like cooking, baking, music, dancing and spending time in the garden. After completing your master's in computer science, you started working remotely from home. You had everything one could ever want, being the only daughter of your parents.

But today, something was weird, your parents had insisted you go out on a business trip with your brother even after you had refused and even your brother was hell bent on taking you with him. Ultimately, you gave in, not being able to argue with them.

Now two flights and half a day later, you were standing next to your brother in the middle of a luxurious banquet filled with rich and influential people. You were wearing a soft baby blue colour satin dress which came to your knees and had a big bow at the back.

Suddenly you felt eyes on yourself and then a big sharp powerful looking man approached towards you. It seemed like your brother knew him as when he saw that man, he shook hands with him and introduced you. Nicolas Ryder, that was his name.

After a few minutes, your brother was called on the stage and you were surprised when he pushed you towards Nicolas saying "Take care of her for me." You tried to protest but before you could say anything, Nicolas pulled you by your waist and said in a deep firm but gentle voice "Be good pequeño tesoro, don't trouble your big brother and let him go now." You looked up at him and then at your brother who just gave you a warm smile and turned to go on the stage.
