After careful consideration, Cato Hadley ultimately decided that volunteering for the 74th Hunger Games was the WORST decision he had ever made in his life.

With a pained grunt escaping his lips, Cato carefully observed the open laceration on his face through the reflection of his sword, cursing when he saw how deep it was. However, Cato couldn’t dwell on it for long, because before he knew it, Katniss Everdeen & Peeta Mellark were on top of the cornucopia with him, causing a full on brawl to ensue between them. Eventually, the fight ended up with Katniss right across from Cato, keeping her bow & arrow trained on him while he strangled Peeta in his arms. “Go on, shoot.” Cato taunted, a broken smile taking over his features. “Then we’d both go down and you’d win.”

Unexpectedly, Cato began to break down, much to everyone else’s surprise. “Go on, I’m dead anyways. I always right? I just never realized it until now.” The blonde then looked around, a crazed look replacing his broken one. “How is that? Is that what they want?!” Cato yelled, directing his comment towards the Capitol. He flinched when Katniss threatened to shoot an arrow, but he made no effort to defend himself.

Not until he remembered you were waiting back at home for him.

Without thinking, Cato used Peeta as a shield, catching Katniss off guard since she ended up shooting him instead of Cato. Soon enough, the star crossed lovers from District 12 were dead, deeming Cato the victor of this year’s games.
