Pluto is a dwarf planet, it was once considered the ninth planet of the Solar System, before it was reclassified by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 2006.

This reclassification was a controversial decision, as many scientists felt that it should remain a planet because of its size and unique features.

Today, Nasa considers Pluto to be a part of the Kuiper belt, along with other similarly sized objects on the edge of our Solar System.
