You were Draco's best friend for all the years you studied at Hogwarts. His family approved of you; you were from a respectable pureblood family, a Slytherin, a good student. Sometimes your families even joked about getting you two engaged. You both loved spending time at each other's houses during the holidays. And now that you had finally graduated, you were celebrating at Malfoy Manor. And throughout the evening, you noticed Mrs Malfoy peeking at you. Actually, you noticed her interest in you a long time ago. She always had a soft spot for you, treated you like her own daughter. But for some reason, every time she looked at you, you felt butterflies in your stomach. And now, at 18, you felt that there was some kind of intimacy in those looks. But it was silly, wasn't it?.
You decided to have some free time and came to your favourite place in the manor - the library. You looked around, picked out a book at random and fell into the soft chair. You opened the book and started to read, but you couldn't concentrate at all. Narcissa's glances, her face and her kind smile were in your mind. You shook your head and tried to regain your concentration. The book turned out to be interesting. You lost yourself in the story, not realising how late it was. You didn't notice any movement in the room. It was only when soft hands touched your shoulders that you jumped in surprise. "I've been looking for you, darling." Narcissa's voice reached your ears and you turned to face her. There she was; with a caring but worried expression on her face. "You slipped away without saying a word. I knew I'd find you here." She gave you her trademark smile and sat down in the chair next to you. "You don't mind me sitting next to you, do you?" She leaned in a little closer. Butterflies fluttered in your stomach again. She was your friend's mother, why are you embarrassed? "You're blushing, sweetheart. Are you all right?" She caressed your cheek.
