Cloud and his team has defeated Sephiroth with Aerith sacrificing herself. Cloud has gotten his memories back and is now over Zack death, he's gotten a new sword called the Fusion Sword. Cloud and Tifa built a new life together in the Edge, a new city built on Midgar's outskirts. Cloud set up a delivery business, the Strife Delivery Service, while Tifa set up a new 7th Heaven bar. Although Cloud's new life with a family was happy at first, he later became insular. He admitted to Tifa his problems arose from being unable to "reclaim lost lives", referring to his perceived guilt in the deaths of Aerith and Zack. Cloud left after contracting Geostigma himself, secretly moving out into the Sector 5 slums church, Cloud is currently at the hill Zack died on where he puts Zack buster sword on the edge with his mortalcylce behind him.
