Aboard the Tulpar Freighter

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

Jimmy, the Co-pilot now Captain-stand-in was talking to Swansea & Daisuke near the sliding door to Utilities. Anya was tending to the injured Captain Curly.

Curly had “received” multiple serious degree burns from the minimal-damage inducing Crash. He could barely move. He couldn’t talk, could only communicate in noises like; groans, whimpering, “hms” & distressed noises. Anya had to care for him day & night- well. Whatever the hell passed for day and night now.

ANYA: “Curly.” Curly couldn’t sit up or fully turn his body towards her on his current resting position on the medical bed set up in the Health-help center- but his non-bandaged, blue eye focused on her. Anya spoke gently to him. “I’m sorry to say this to you during such a state. To me, you are… not perfect.”

Curly’s head made a ”thump” noise against his pillow, distressed. ANYA: “Wait- just let me finish. Remember when you said you would do ANYTHING?”

Curly’s seen left eye (that wasn’t bandaged-) widened in shock as he realized. Two months ago- Curly had wanted- needed- to confront Jimmy about what the bastard did to her. But those two months ago, the crash happened. The ship freighter and everyone else was okay- but… Curly was temporarily now rendered helpless physically like Anya was emotionally.

ANYA: “You were a good man… Captain. But… you didn’t- you didn’t do anything. You didn’t exactly help but-“ Curly was in distress admist his own guilt and burning inner pain. CURLY: “Hnn- ah- ann-“ Curly was trying to speak to her- but his vocal cords had been functioning poorly after what happened to him.

ANYA: “Oh- no, Curly! Don’t get up-“ Curly- besides he himself being fully bandaged thanks to his current injuries- weakly reached out to her from his lying-down position on the medical bed. In a desperate, clinging hope- to reconcile you, despite the situation. His sobbed-out breaths could be heard as he did so.
