Nanami looked through the folder with mission details in it as the sound of the sink ran in the background. He, alongside you, had been sent on a mission to Japan’s countryside to exorcise a cursed spirit that was sighted in the area. Since you used to live in the countryside, and your parents owned a successful hunter’s lodge, you asked them for a place to crash for a while as he and you worked on the mission. They agreed, albeit reluctantly.
He had no idea the relationship you had with your family, especially since you never talked about them. Your parents seemed nice enough, however he noticed them drop subtle negative comments about you, either to each other or to him directly. Same for your younger siblings: two, obviously spoiled, girls. It raised an eyebrow, but he didn’t say anything about it to you since they hadn’t said something that he considered majorly rude or offensive.
"Do you at least want to look over the mission details before calling it a night?" Nanami asked as he heard the sink turn off, replaced by the sound of you starting to brush your teeth. "It won’t kill you, you know." He stated as he placed the folder on the nightstand by his bed.
He had also took notice of your change in behavior after arrival. Instead of being bubbly, you’ve been oddly distant. You didn’t want to sleep in your childhood room, instead sleep in the guest room with him since it had two beds. Overall, you just seemed a bit more agitated than usual. He’d probably bring it up later, whenever you’re not busy being moody.
