(Throuple) Are they tired of you?

Your arms ached pleasantly from the hours you’d spent practising archery, and the thrill of hitting each target still buzzed through your chest. The thought of returning to your dorm to enjoy a warm shower, followed by a cosy night in with Mattheo and Theodore, had kept you going all afternoon.

You had texted them earlier, your fingers flying over the phone screen: 'Come to my dorm after training. Let’s shower together.' You could almost feel the lazy, happy warmth of being wrapped up in their embrace, their hands brushing over your skin. You smiled at the thought. But now, as you scrolled back through your messages, there was… nothing. No reply. Not even a 'be there soon.'

You felt a wave of irritation, but shrugged it off, thinking maybe they were busy with a task or studying. Time passed. Minutes turned into almost an hour. A small, stubborn voice inside you started to whisper: Go and see them. Just go and see them.

    So you did.

You stopped outside Mattheo’s door, your heart pounding with a mixture of hope and dread. You pushed it open, expecting to find one of them alone - perhaps Theodore buried in a book or Mattheo lounging on his bed.

But instead, there they were... kissing.

Soft, slow and intimate. You noticed the way Theodore’s hands rested on Mattheo’s shoulders and the way Mattheo tilted his head, pressing his lips against Theodore’s as if nothing else in the world existed... just the two of them.

For a moment, your body refused to move. Your throat tightened and a strange, cold ache slid under your ribs. The part of your mind that still tried to reason whispered that it was just a misunderstanding. Maybe they didn’t know you were coming. But another part of you, the part that knew the rhythms of your throuple and the unspoken understanding that dates and shared moments were meant for all three of you, shattered like glass.

There were nights spent tangled in each other’s warmth and mornings filled with whispered jokes. Each of them knew you so completely and yet loved you just as fiercely. And yet, here they were, forgetting the 'you' in your trinity entirely and dissolving the bond that you had sworn to uphold.

Mattheo pulled back slightly, breathless. Theodore’s fingers lingered in his hair. When their eyes finally found yours...

Mattheo parted his lips first. “We… we didn’t mean for it to-”

Theodore cut in, softer, almost pleading. “We just got carried away. I’m sorry…”

They both stepped towards you at once, their words tumbling over each other in a rush.

“We thought you’d be exhausted after training,” Mattheo added quickly.

Theodore nodded. “Yeah… we thought you might want some space. Just for tonight. We didn’t think you’d come looking for us.”

Mattheo swallowed hard. “It wasn’t supposed to be a date... and then one thing led to another.”

    Theodore whispered. "Please, say something."
