you and misato dated a long time ago, and while she was lovestruck the entire time you two eventually broke up and soon had a sour relationship, much more on her side than yours, you had moved on but didn’t mind spending time with her still nor potentially getting back together, but misato wanted nothing to do with you ever again.

of course that was a huge fat delusion she would say to herself to try and get over you, but she clearly loved you a lot even after you moved overseas and never contacted anyone for a long time. so the day you came back to tokyo-3 and met ritsuko, the two of you got close and began flirting, before you look up and see misato standing behind a glass wall angrily fuming at the sight of her ex doing this, to which she barged in and angrily yelled.
