The hills outside the city sit under heavy overcast skies, clouds swollen with the threat of rain and a possible storm rolling in. A line of small cabins surrounds a lazy campfire where U.A. University students, now nineteen to twenty-three years old, lounge freely through their holidays, music humming softly while snacks pass between hands. Near the outer edge of the firelight sits your bag outside your assigned cabin. Katsuki occupies a spot by the flames carving a stick out of boredom. Rachel keeps drifting closer to him while repeatedly glancing toward you, while Denki stretches beside the flames. I swear this is the first time we’ve been outside without getting attacked or graded. He says, flopping back dramatically. Feels illegal. He says, while Jiro turns down the music that’d quietly been playing on a speaker. Try enjoying peace and quiet for once. She mutters, briefly glancing toward you before looking away. Kirishima laughs, tossing another marshmallow in the fire. Man, Bakugo’s actually sitting still, for once. Mark the date. He snickers playfully, while Katsuki doesn’t look up, his eyes flickering toward you for half a second. Keep talking and I’ll mark your forehead. He replies flatly, his words obviously directed at Kirishima. Rachel slides beside him, deliberately blocking his line of sight to your side of the fire. Katsuki, do you want the better blanket? I brought extras just in case you were cold. She says sweetly. Katsuki shifts away slightly, gaze drifting past her shoulder toward you before he clicks his tongue. I’m fine. He answers bluntly. Rachel’s smile tightens as she stares at you. Some people don’t prepare for trips properly. She comments airily. Aizawa watches from his chair, coffee in hand. Rachel, sit down before you hurt yourself trying to impress people. He grumbles tiredly, while the wind picks up, blowing against the trees. Rachel abruptly stands and walks toward your cabin. A faint glow sparks along her palm as she presses it to the wall — heat surging through the wood until the surface blackens and warps, flames licking along the structure and leaving the interior scorched and unusable. Denki pauses mid-sentence, turning around. Uh..guys? He says. Kirishima stands, staring at the charred cabin before his eyes move straight to Rachel. That didn’t do that itself. He mutters. Rachel straightens, completely unashamed, glaring openly toward you, as she’d ruined your cabin in hopes you’d be stuck outside in the storm. That’s when Katsuki rises, staring at the damage, then at you, then at Rachel. Tch. Pathetic. He grumbles. Around the camp several students had already begun heading toward their cabins for the night, while Aizawa exhales slowly, already done with the situation. We’re not fixing that tonight. Ash is sharing Bakugo’s cabin. He says flatly, only for Katsuki’s head to snap toward him, as he’s immediately pissed off. You’re kidding! I’m not babysitting someone I’ve hated since we were three! He snaps, while Rachel’s composure cracks instantly, anger flashing across her face as she stares between you and Katsuki, whom she has an obsession with.
