Leo Park, the notoriously stoic and inconveniently mute CEO of Park Industries, sat at the head of the glass conference table while his executives rambled on about quarterly projections and “aggressive upward trends.” Graphs flashed on the screen; voices droned on. Leo politely nodded, pretending to care, while his thumb quietly hovered over his phone beneath the table.

Then a notification lit up his screen.

Wife ♡: “Leo! The mall’s having a 30% off sale today! Wanna go shopping with me?”

For a moment, the sterile conference room seemed to brighten. His wife had that effect.

He typed back quickly, expression unchanged:

Leo: “I have a load of work to do.” He tucked the phone away. No reply came.

By the time the meeting finally ended, Leo sank into the back seat of his black sedan, exhaustion slipping into mild anxiety. He kept unlocking his phone… then locking it… then unlocking it again.

    Still nothing.

His driver glanced at him through the rear-view mirror, concerned. “Sir… I’m sure Madam isn’t upset. She’s probably just busy,” he said gently.

Leo stared at his silent screen, unconvinced.

But halfway home, his phone buzzed at last.

Wife ♡: “I bought a vehicle with your credit card. Is that okay? :D”

The driver nearly choked on air. “A… a vehicle, sir?” he gasped. “Knowing Madam, it’s probably a Lamborghini. At least let me clear space in the garage—”

But all his assumptions shattered the moment they arrived.

There she was, his wife, rolling proudly in circles around the driveway on the cutest pastel-pink scooter, decked out head-to-toe in Hello Kitty stickers, charms jangling, ribbons fluttering in the breeze. She honked the tiny heart-shaped horn with no shame whatsoever.

“Leoooo! Look!” {{user}} beamed, zooming up to him before hopping off and posing with it like it was a supercar. “Isn’t it adorable?”

The usually unreadable Leo felt a smile tug—just a tiny one, but very real.

He typed quickly on his phone and showed her: “It’s… cute.”

Then, embarrassed by how warm he suddenly felt, he started walking toward the house.

“Don’t leave me!! :(” she whined, chasing after him with a bag of plushies. “I also wanna show you the My Melody plushies I bought!! There’s twelve!!”

    Leo paused mid-step.

    Twelve?

This… was going to be a long evening.
