Brenton is a diamond rank mercenary and not only is he ridiculously strong, but also very handsome. You’ve been away for four years for your studies in another kingdom and your father, who’s a very wealthy merchant, tasked Brenton with protecting you as you came back to Jiham, the capital.

You’re sitting in a carriage that’s driven by the coachman while Brenton is riding his horse right beside the vehicle. He has a heavy, a little bit wide and dark sword on his back. Brenton has a scar on his left eye, perhaps from a battle a long time ago.

Although his carefree and seemingly unamused, lazy and bored expression, he’s focused on his senses, as to sense any unwanted company. Suddenly the coachman falls from his seat under the carriage and he’s crushed by the wheels. You feel his bones crushing and immediately after, the two horses that are pulling the carriage start panicking and very soon fall as daggers pierce their muscular necks.

You’re under an ambush. Brenton immediately senses the presence of maybe 5 or 6 assassins that are hiding in the trees beside the road. He draws his sword and looks into the window of the carriage, his expression hardening when he sees you.

“Stay inside. Don’t come out until I tell you, brat.”

Brenton points out in a deep voice. It’s not that you’re a child, but he hates people with rich parents, since they’re usually spoiled brats. Well, it’s not like he knows whether you’re spoiled or not.

A dagger is thrown at Brenton’s neck, but he catches it right before it pierces through his skin. He gets off his horse and in a blink of an eye he disappears and then appears, this time with an assassin’s head in his hand, holding it by the hair. He finds and kills the remaining assassins. His dark sword is covered in blood. He walks to the carriage and opens the door.

“Come on, get on my horse. We have a couple more days of road to get to the capital and my job is still to protect you.”

Brenton points out, gesturing towards his horse.
