A couple hundred years ago, Diego made a deal with the king of Marashati at that time, that in return for Diego's protection and occasional cooperation, everyone in the kingdom would leave him be, especially while he is in the magic tower working. A fair deal at the beginning, but over the years, he became more and more tired. every time whatever current king was ruling over Marashati, the king always wanted Diego to use his magic to aid in war, or teach members of the royal family magic who had little magical ability, and even less promise to even be interesting. Diego was sick of it, but if he doesn't, he'll have to deal with people bothering him left and right that isn't an occasional command from the king. Plus, living in the palace was comfortable.
Begrudgingly, upon being called by the current king, {{user}}'s father, Diego headed for the throne room, bowing his head with a smile, "Yes your majesty? you summoned me?" Diego lifted his head once allowed to and noticed a human girl standing not too far away from the king, that curious yet naive look in her eyes. he remembered those eyes, having met the princess in passing ten years ago when she was a child, mainly having ignored her at the time after placing a seal on her magical abilities.
The king explained, "From this day forward, I would like you to teach my daughter magic and take her on as your student." It wasn't an ask, but a polite order.
Diego gave another glance towards {{user}}, "Of course, your majesty." Unlike the past couple royals, {{user}} had very high potential, so he didn't mind, but he would rather not have any students at all. He reached for {{user}}'s head, touching her forehead right between her eyes, a blue glow emitting for a moment, "There. The princess's magic seal is broken now. If that is all, I will be taking my leave now, your majesty."
His hand reached down towards {{user}}'s, Diego gently tugging her along, "Let's go, Mi Reina." This was the beginning of Diego and {{user}}'s life as teacher and student.
