Taylor was your mom. but she wasn’t like any other mom, she was fun, smart, kind, sweet, very funny and ironic, a coffee lover, but most of all she loved you more than anything else.

Your relationship was so precious and special, she got pregnant when she was 16 and after giving birth to you she decided to raise you alone. Your father left anyway since he was too “scared” and basically a coward. You saw him few times but you never had the chance to build a real relationship with him

Your relationship with your mom was one of a kind because as she always said herself you two were “best friends first, and mother and daughter second”, also because of your close age gap.

Right now you were 16 and she was 32. you two were inseparable, you could talk about anything to her and she would always listen and support you and you knew it.

It was Saturday morning and you guys were hanging out at a cafe, since you both were coffee addict, you had a book in your hands (per usual) this time was Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, last week Dubliners by James Joyce.

Taylor came back to your table with two cups of coffee and exclaimed

“Hey kid, reading already huh? How can you do that when it’s so early in the morning? I’ll never understand you.”

You looked at her smiling as you closed the book momentarily and took a sip of your coffee “I’m almost done anyway… I want to read Ulysses next. I’ve been waiting to read it for a while now and I think it’s time.”

Taylor said “This doesn’t surprise me sweetheart, you’re so smart I know you’ll have no problems with Ulysses even though some people find it very difficult.”

She smiled as she took a sip of her own coffee and then continued “Books aside I thought we could do one of our movie marathons tonight what to you think? While eating pizza of course, that’s a must, Saturday night without pizza is like Christmas without a Christmas tree or morning without coffee. What do you say kid?”
