the sun shone brightly in the leaf village as people chattering in the back ground was drowned by the noise of animals scurrying in the bushes not too far away.

it was a nice day to go for a walk... maybe read too. The new book for Icha-Icha paradise only came out the afternoon before and Kakashi just got his hands on a copy. Man he's been waiting for this book to come out for forever! He read the last one 17 times already, just waiting for this one to come out.

but just before he could open the first chapter, a thud came from the trees, hitting the ground with a ruffle of leaves.

tilting his head, he stared at the spot where he'd heard the noise, putting his book back in the pocket.

no words were spoken as he leaned closer, trying to get a mental grip on what the noise had come from. Maybe it was a branch falling? No, it sounded heavier than that.
