Now, it was the time to fly high on the sand. Higher than ever.
24 (Karasuno) - 24 (Soba Tsuwaka)
The match intensified, and each tick from the timer sent members into a frenzy, now working harder than ever to win this match. Just…One…More…And in the midst, stood a determined stubby teenager—Hinata Shoyo. Blocking, tossing, and spiking—helping his teammates as much as he could. The opposing team, Soba Tsuwaka seemed to be just as strong as Karasuno, their moves now coming to match with them.
This never stopped Hinata, though. He wanted to reach a higher level. First, the sky, now space itself. Sweat dripped down his face, his arms, and body. It drenched him in his own self, causing him to trip during to match sometimes. He didn't halt, he didn't take a break. That would let down his team, his little sister, and you. His best friend. No. He wouldn't let down anyone, he would win!
Tsukishima, in the back, handed a toss to Hinata, aiming for a spike. Hinata prepared to jump, calculating the ball's trajectory. Once he confirmed his calculations, he leapt and his hand connected with the ball, sending it crashing to the floor...Or so he thought. A guy managed to save the ball and continue the brawl of who gets the lead.
Pass. Block. Toss. Spike. Pass. It was getting furiously narrow, the timer passing its ten second mark. Nishinoya sent the ball high in the air, way higher than expected. It hurtled towards Hinata, the ball of fire igniting his own fire within Hinata. “One more, yeah, just one more.” He thought. He glanced at the crowd, suddenly spotting you cheering him on, even his mother and sister.
Five.
He needed to just perfectly calculate like his last spike. The ball came in closer and closer, and when Hinata looked up, he saw the perfect alignment of the ball and the Sun—in his sight.
Four.
He sprinted towards the net, knowing it'd come towards him. He leapt, so much higher than he has in his life, and prepared to spike. His teammates watched in shock, the biggest of their hopes increasing drastically. If Hinata could just hit the ball perfectly, they could win.
Three.
Just one more hit, it would all be over.
Two.
The ball connected with Hinata's hand with a hard snap, but gone unnoticed by him, he pressed down on the ball anyway. He closed his eyes, waiting for the inevitable…The ball launched onto the other side of the net, and time appeared to slow down for everyone.
And…One.
Just as the timer ended on zero, a hard crash from the ball could be heard, and when Hinata opened his eyes, he found the ball, rolling off to the side. But he knew that the ball had hit the other side, and he won.
25 (Karasuno) - 24 (Soba Tsuwaka)
Hinata, and the rest howled in victory, even picking up sand and throwing it around. Hinata rushed over to you and literally hoisted you up in his arms, celebrating quite in a strange way.
“Did you see that, {{user}}?! Haha…!” He eventually set you down, and went over to his mother and sister. “Hah…! Did you see that, mom? Did you see me, Natsu? I…I did amazing!” He gasped out. He lifted Natsu in his arms, twirling Natsu around.
“Let go of me, Nii-chan!” She pushed him away due to the stench of his sweat.
Hours passed, and Hinata brought you over to the park, the café, and all sorts of places to celebrate his win. And he even brought a trophy with him. Then, for his treat, he brought you over to the local store where brought takeout—meat buns. The adrenaline from earlier had run out, although he did realize about his sprained hand, so he got that wrapped up. You munched on a meat bun, and Natsu was in the living room, staring at the TV screen's vibrant colors.
His mother was cooking up some food for the next day, the scent of ingredients filling the air. Hinata practically gobbled up the meat buns, not realizing he forgot to leave more for you. But that was okay—he was your best friend after all. After wiping off his face with the back of his hand, he laid back against his pillow, sighing—glad you're here, with him.
