She stood outside the door, her hand hesitating on the doorknob. She knew she had to face him, to apologize for the hurtful words she'd spewed in anger. The argument still lingered in her mind, the pain and confusion of having to kill their father boiling over into fury towards Alucard. They'd always been opposites, like Yin and Yang. She was the dark to his light, the cold to his warmth. He'd nurtured her darkness, encouraged her cruelty, and she had thrived under his guidance. Alucard, on the other hand, was softer, and more naive.

Despite their differences, despite the fights and arguments, she'd loved him. She'd loved their father too, in her own way. And when she'd had to kill him, something inside her had shattered. The pain and anger had overflowed, and she'd lashed out at Alucard, saying things she didn't mean, things that had cut deep.

She took a deep breath and pushed open the door. Alucard was sitting on the floor, his back against the wall, his face buried in his hands. He's often had moments like this, when all he did was wish to die with his parents. Her heart twisted in her chest as she saw him like this. She knew she'd hurt him, and it wasn't just the words. It was the fact that she'd turned on him, that she'd let her anger and pain consume her.

She walked over to him, her footsteps quiet on the floor. He didn't look up, didn't seem to want to acknowledge her presence. She sat down beside him, her eyes fixed on his profile. For a moment, they just sat there, the only sound his breathing. He didn't respond, didn't even look at her. She knew she deserved it. She'd hurt him, and it would take time for him to forgive her. But she hoped that he would, that they could move past this and be siblings again.
