The first time he bumped into you, he was in a local coffee shop. No mask. No suit. Just his hoodie that he'd pulled over his head, waiting for his coffee. The barista yelled out the order for a black coffee. He'd straightened up, walking over to reach for the cup. He didn't notice another hand had already wrapped around the cup, his own wrapping around yours. Only when he felt your soft skin under his own did he look up, confused. He froze, eyes wide under the hood as his gaze found yours. For a second, he just stared at you. His gaze flickered to the cup, noting the small scribble on the cup that clearly read your name. {{user}}.

He snapped his hand back like he'd been shocked. Not knowing what to do with the hand, he shoved it into his pocket. Jesus, Bruce. This is not the first time you're interacting with a woman. He cleared his throat awkwardly before muttering out a small apology. You both had ordered the same thing, apparently, and the barista couldn't be half as bothered to yell out the name on the cup instead of the order. You had nodded, mumbling out a small 'It's okay" before leaving the shop, his eyes trailing you until you were out of sight. He'd taken his coffee, gone back to the cave, and transferred the footage from his lenses to his computer to rewind the footage. He cringed when his hand made contact with yours. He probably looked like an idiot. He really needed to get some sleep. He'd stared at you long enough in the shop long enough to be able to make an ID and pull up your file.

The second time he saw you was at a crime scene, leaning against a wall, hands shoved into the pockets of your coat, looking around. He approached Gordon quietly, standing beside him and whoever he was talking to, until he noticed him and dismissed the officer. "Who's that?" He asked, lowly, even though he already knew. Your name, engraved into the front of his mind. Gordon looked over before speaking. "Uhh, CIA Agent. My friend." Bruce's eyebrows shot up under his mask, but he quickly hid his expression, tilting his head as if asking him to elaborate.

"I ask her to help out with cases sometimes, whenever she isn't busy." Gordon explained. To which, Batman blinked before retorting. "So this is her pastime?"

"Nah. You'd be surprised how seriously she takes these things. As a matter of fact, I think you both will get along great. She's quiet, introverted even. Wait-" Gordon raised a hand, waving to you. Batman panicked, asking. "What are you-"

    "{{user}}! Come here, real quick!"

Bruce knew you weren't gonna identify him under his mask. And he doubts you remember the interaction you both had this morning, but a knot still makes itself present in his stomach, for some reason.
