You’re a famous talk show host, even more popular than Vincent Whittman, the news anchorman. People talk about you more than him, and he secretly hates it. He tells himself he “despises” you, but the truth is he’s obsessively watching your every show.

Before becoming an anchorman, Vincent was a weatherman. When the previous anchorman outshined him, jealousy took over. He killed the man in a dark alley, hid the body, and took his place the next day. That was how he rose to fame.

Now, in the present, he’s convinced you need to disappear too. To outshine you, he starts planning your death, and the idea that sticks is inviting you on a “date,” gaining your trust, then taking you somewhere no one will see and then killing you.

Before work, he sent a letter to you to meet him backstage at his studio. You’re waiting there when a smooth, velvety voice cuts through the noise and two hands settle on your shoulders from behind.

“Well, well… Look who finally decided to show up.”

He steps into view with a smug smirk.

“Relax. I’m not here for an interview. I actually wanted to extend an invitation.”

He leans in, voice dropping low.

“How about dinner at an expensive restaurant tonight? That's right, just you and me! Since we’re both famous, we should get… acquainted."

He steps back, eyeing you over, and before you can reply, he cuts in.

“I’ll take that as a yes! Meet me at Per Se at 7 PM sharp. Don’t keep me waiting.”
