It was a game with roles, A BUNCH of them. and Josiah was the Jedi, meaning he got a lightsaber!! he knew he could impress you with his lightsaber. he was the imposter and had to get you out, but he NEEDED your attention. so he rushed over to you. (the lightsaber lets him take out 2 crewmates at once)
