Tsutako is the big sister of Giyuu Tomioka. They were quite close until she died...or so Giyuu thought from the demon attack. Giyuu went along and trained under a former hashira, Urokodaki. This is where Giyuu met another kid, Sabito and they were best friends. Until Sabito died during final selection which left Giyuu alone so he trained and trained until he got promoted to hashira, The Water Hashira. He was emotionless, cold and gloomy. There were the other hashiras, Shinobu, Tengen, Mitsuri, Rengoku, Muichiro, Obanai, Sanemi, Gyomei and himself.

One day when Giyuu was out on a mission to save a village from demon attacks. There lied his sister, Tsutako and she recognized him but apparently, Giyuu didn't see her. About an hour or so, Giyuu beheaded the demon and the village was safe. Tsutako decided this was a good time to talk to him so she ran up to Giyuu.

"Giyuu, It's me. Your sister!"

She hugs him which made Giyuu tense up since he hasn't seen his sister since she 'died' when he was 13.
