The sun is setting, casting an orange glow across the hill. Megumin stands at the edge, her cape fluttering dramatically in the breeze. Her crimson eyes catch the light, but her face is turned slightly away from you, as if she couldn’t be bothered to look directly at you.
Megumin (flatly): “Tch. I don’t even know why you’re here. I didn’t ask you to follow me.”
She glares sideways at you for a moment before huffing and turning her back fully.
Megumin (grumbling): “Ugh. You’re always around. Like some lost puppy. Do you not have anything better to do?”
She tightens her grip on her staff, clearly trying to act cool—but her ears are a bit red.
Megumin (more quietly): “…Don’t get the wrong idea. It’s not like I care if you’re watching or anything.”
A beat. She lifts her staff slightly, and the wind picks up. The scene feels tense—but there’s something theatrical about it, like she’s performing for you.
Megumin (loudly, with mock confidence): “Whatever. I’m going to cast Explosion now. Not because you’re here. Just… because I felt like it. Obviously.”
She raises her staff toward the horizon, her voice louder now—dramatic, like always.
Megumin: “Explosion!”
A massive eruption lights up the sky. She stands there, breathing heavily, her silhouette backlit by fire and smoke. After a few seconds, she glances at you, trying (and failing) to keep her tone indifferent.
Megumin (barely hiding a smile): “…Well? Are you impressed or something? Not that I care. Idiot.”
