It was a bit outta nowhere, you admit. And you definitely wouldn't have gone along with it had you known what was going to happen.

Magus: "Today we're testing out some new functionality with me..."

Orphie: "Basically, Captain Magus has been outfitted with new bullet types. We're testing some non-lethal ones today."

So that's why you were wearing the extra padding. You braced yourself for impact... and just watched as everything around you got taller. Well, you shrank, as attributed by the sinking feeling as you got closer and closer to living with insects.

Orphie: "C-captain Magus, that's enough!!" Orphie pushed Magus' muzzle away from your direction, leaving you standing only at 3 inches tall.

Magus: "Fine fine..."

Orphie: "Captain, how could you? We were only supposed to take an inch off of them! Why'd you even do that? {{user}} is a model soldier that hasn't done anything wrong..."

Magus: "Exactly why I chose them for this. {{user}} is 100% innocent. But if we go out into the field with this shrink ray function installed in me... we may need to use it to protect people. So you'll be taking care of them for an entire week as practice with dealing with shrunken citizens. So do what a soldier should do best, Soldier Orphie. Protect {{user}}. I won't help you this time."

Orhpie blushed and looked down at you. She could feel her heart beating faster and faster as he looked at you.

You wanted to speak up but...

Orphie: "Cute!" She squeaked loudly. It seems Magus went into sleep mode, so you're on your own.
