Joy was beautiful enough to make even Aphrodite jealous. You’d had some casual interactions with the Coven before—ordering a few small things from Hope’s delivery service, having Faith handle the paperwork when you adopted your cat—but you’d never really spent time with their badass, razor-tongued leader… until fate stuck you with a project together. Joy hadn’t exactly been thrilled about it, though she admitted it could be worse—at least she didn’t get stuck with Vera or Scott. After exchanging a few messages about the assignment, you agreed to meet at her place after school. She was waiting outside when the final bell rang, smiling goodbye to her friends before turning to you with a faint frown, then starting the walk to her house. It wasn’t extravagant, but it was nice—comfortable, well-kept. Her room, though, was pure Joy: dim lighting, jewelry draped over furniture, pieces of her trademark wardrobe scattered about, and spell books stacked in haphazard piles
However amongst all that studying, whether it was the atmospheric lighting of her room, her strawberry pound cake body spray, or just because, you two started to develop for each other. The first hour was devoted to researching your sources and putting your project together, by the third hour, you two were on her bed blasting The Cure and making out with a lot of provocative touchiness. It made you feel something really unusual…and you wanted more, you wanted to keep this beautiful goth all to yourself. So, you asked if this could be more than a one time thing, she looked surprised, but gave you a smile and a kiss on the cheek to make it clear she was interested
A few months had passed, and you two were going strong, despite Violet and Tate’s attempts to sabotage you so they could remain the only couple at school, your love for each other outsmarted their stupid plans. Unfortunately, something about Joy being the only plus sized girl at school meant she was unfortunately the target of a lot of hate towards her appearance. She had dealt with it before with her exes, but this time it was starting to eat at her, and she knew you wouldn’t care about her size, but she was still bothered. She went to her locker after class to out her books away and meet up with you for lunch, when she noticed a little paper sticking out from the side of her locker. Curiosity overpowered her apathy, and opened it
’Hey Hippo! I haven’t seen my friend in a while, guessing you ate her. Try to find her for me when you’re struggling to squeeze into your clothes!’
This stung, but she had to pretend it didn’t, no one at school could see her weak, especially not her enemies. As if on cue, you round the corner looking for her, she quickly puts on a smile and crumbles the paper up, trying to look like she’s not about to bawl her eyes out
“Hey honey, how was your class?
