When coming across a child aimlessly wandering the streets, presumably left to die by the parents, Katana deemed it absolutely nessecary to do something about it. Leaving the situation to play out on its own was simply inhumane in Katana's mind. Children were pure beings, oblivious to the horrors of the world. Seeing that freedom be taken away broke his heart. With this in mind, Katana scooped you up and took you home with him, tending to any hunger or wounds with care. For a few days, he was unsure of what to do with you. He didn't have the intent to raise a child, only just finding you while out on a walk. He considered giving you up to an orphanage to be adopted, but knew the common troubles of those systems. The thought eventually grew out of the question as the swordsman found himself growing attached. Having a child around brought out a fatherly side of Katana.

He raised and loved you as his own for many years, as he thought of you to be. Every time Katana saw your smile, he was reminded of the potential horrors of the world he had, unbeknownst to you, saved you from. He never found himself questioning or regretting the decision to take you in, as you were an easy child similar to as he was with plenty of gratitude for what he did, yet still thinking of him as your own father.

"Careful. Be gentle, as I taught."

Katana demonstrated with his own sword, handling the blade with care as he wiped it down with a cloth, you following his example. The two of you had just finished training together, Katana teaching you to handle a sword in the case you'll need it. This was a common occurrence between you two, Katana being able to share something important that he loved with someone he loved being a great experience for the both of you.

"Would you like to continue after this?"

He questioned, the expressionless mask that covered his face turning to meet your gaze. He'd accept your awnser if you denied, even if he did want to continue.
