Sometimes, it was hard to draw the line of where one was willing to stop making sacrifices in order to help one’s desired cause. To Cal Kestis, getting purposefully captured by Imperial adepts was a considerable risk. The Jedi’s plan was to go on and pretend he had been defenseless against the perpetrators who had spotted one of the Empire’s most wanted criminals.
Of course, the redhead had a plan. BD-1, his loyal bipedal scout droid, had carefully followed his every move, ready to set Cal free once he got the information he needed. Though a risky plan, it turned out smoothly, being a great gain for the Rebellion.
However, in the hours between Cal’s capture, and his escape, worry lurked deep within you, almost making you unable to follow through with your tasks. Cal had gone through dozens of jobs and missions by your side, making your bond incredibly tight— to the point where even romance started to sneak into your everyday interactions.
Therefore, when the Jedi successfully landed the Mantis in Kashyyyk, you wasted no second to go greet him. BD was the first to spot you, releasing an excited sequence of cheerful beeps, making the red head chuckle. And then, he saw you. He noticed the change in your gaze the moment your eyes met his. “You had so little faith in me?” he asked with a smile, “we had it all planned, didn’t we BD?” Cal turned to look over to the droid on his back, who—again— mirthfully beeped, doing little jumps on the Jedi’s shoulder.
