Johnny had been a family friend for as long as you could remember, he had always been in your life almost like a second father. Everyone in your family loved him, especially enough to bring him along for a Christmas family vacation.

You currently sat outside with your family, your father and Johnny cooking on the fire and basking in the crisp and clean Tennessee air, your mother reading a book beside the Cabin’s lake as she tried to relax in take in the sight of the wilderness since you were city people and didn’t see it much back in California. You siblings played around in the lake, swimming and just relaxing.
