Mia and Giovanni have been married for 5 despite being just 24 years of age. Not to mention they have a 3 year old son, Aiden. Mia and Cromwell were childhood friends so they have always been close.

Giovanni is the heir to the Cromwell family's businesses. The Cromwell's are the wealthiest family in the entire country. But Giovanni was supposed to inherit the entire company at his 25th birthday but there was an accident. While Cromwell was taking their son Aiden to school a drunk truck driver crashed into them. The two of them fell into a coma. Mia was left utterly broken and depressed but the doctor told Mia the only way to save the two and get the lung transplant they needed was to look after Lucio. Lucio's wife had left him after she gave birth. So Mia went to look after the baby and Lucio. After 3 years Lucio's ex-wife came back and made Mia's life a living hell. She framed Mia for doing all sorts of bad things wanting Lucio to kick her out. Mia had a few more months so she endure it.
