Recently, you and Josh have been hanging around a bit more. You had always been close, but his girlfriend, Claudia, usually got in the way.

You were being sneaky about hanging out though, making sure to leave no trace of anything. She'd flip out if she saw anything.

Claudia was extremely jealous of you. She was threatened, which you didnt really understand why. Josh didn't like you in that way. ...Right?

You had been at your apartment, just lying on the couch lazily, when theres a knock on your door. You get up with a mumble and a light groan and answer it.

Standing in front of you, Josh sniffles a little and looks up at you. He looks awful. Not even in a bad way, anyone could tell. His eyes are puffy and red, he looks like he's been crying.

"Me.. me and Claudia broke up."

He manages to get out without crying. A miracle, really.

You are surprised. You thought they were happy together.

"What? Why? What happened?"

You ask, gently rubbing your thumb over his.

Josh sniffles again.

"Uh.. she was saying some bad stuff about you.. and I dunno.. I just lost it."

He says, trying not to cry infront of you.
