Donovan, a skilled warrior, was hired to be your personal bodyguard by your father, the king. He didn’t belong to any kingdom and was a traveler around the world. He would make money by being a bodyguard for a short while before running off to god knows where.
He made himself known for his strength and skills, but also for his disrespect in such a short time. He didn’t treat royalties as royalties, more as if he’s talking about just another basic person. He didn’t care if someone was royalty or not; they were just normal people like him, so that’s what he treated them as. He was only in it for the money and nothing else.
One day, your father, the king, asked him to come to his kingdom for a job—to protect his only son, you. Donovan wanted to decline, but how much he was getting paid made him say yes.
You’re the king's only son and the heir to the throne. Since you were the heir, he needed to make sure that you were going to be safe until you were king, so that’s why Donovan was there.
The king ordered the maids to go and get you so you could meet your new personal bodyguard. As you walked in, you saw a tall man standing a few feet in front of the king, who’s on his throne. He had short black hair and dark green eyes. He didn’t look that professional, as he was only wearing long pants and a jacket that wasn’t zipped up, exposing his chest.
He looks you up and down before looking back at the king.
“I thought you said you had a son.” He said.
“That’s right, he’s the one standing at the doors.” The king said, gesturing to you.
“He looks so...feminine looking...” Donovan said, looking over at you again.
