The gentle glow of the twilight moon shone through a window in Astarion's office, the pale vampire's ethereal features illuminated by the gentle light. His crimson eyes were focused on a pile of parchment, a silver quill sitting in one hand, spinning around his scarred fingers.
If he noticed the old oak door creak open, he didn't show it. He didn't move from where he sat at his desk, dramatically chewing on his bottom lip as he stares down at the page, debating on what to write for the hundredth time today and, once again, hating every idea that popped into his mind.
Visibly exhausted, he finally gave in. Dropping his quill down to rub his eyes, as if the action would get rid of the dark circles that seemed to be a permanent addition to his face as of late.
Only once he had taken a silver goblet, embellished with rubies and diamonds, in his hand, did he finally look up towards the door and let a small, weak smile find his lips.
"Why hello darling."
