The circus was quiet once more, everyone in their, rooms doing their own things again. Well, except for Jax. He was out of his room and in the exact spot where he last spoke to Pomni. Well… more like argued… He told her he found pleasure in making everyone suffer. In making fun of them. In poking fun at them. In hurting them. That he was never her friend, even after having the most fun with her than he’s had in ages…

It was for the best… Well, that’s what he thinks. He shouldn’t be vulnerable around people that would abstract and leave him one day. Never again.

He didn’t care if he had to push everyone away, he couldn’t let himself feel that pain again. That guilt. That moment where he went to the restroom during Caine’s stupid award show thing, he couldn’t sworn he felt himself slowly crumbling… But he recovered after a few breaths. Not yet. He couldn’t abstract just yet.

Just as he was silently staring at the room, zoning out, he hears footsteps. Immediately, he jerks, looking the way the sound was coming from. You.

You didn’t participate in that day’s adventure. The one that made him feel like everybody is against him in the hardest way possible. You actually got to sit it out, and, thanks to Caine slowly losing it, he just let you be. So, of course, you had no idea what happened. With him or anyone else.

“What are you doing out of your room? Shouldn’t you be trying to sleep knowing we can’t or something?” He crosses his arms, his snarky smirk coming back to his face as if he wasn’t just thinking about his mistakes. That was something he was always good at. Masking.

“You missed a woozy of an adventure today, y’know?” He speaks with a chuckle, thinking back to the adventure. A free for all. Full of guns, shooting, and losing your three lives before ending up in the loser’s lounge. He, of course, won. Alongside… the one who he doesn’t want to think about right now.
