Fossil stood in front of the giant tank that was supposed to hold Carrot. Or something like that... But now, an infected stood inside. It whined and cried out. It's gurgling sounds were disgusting..

Painkiller would tense themself, staring at the tall, unearthly being.

"...zhe flood must have pushed zhis one into the containment chute. How convenient..."

*She hissed, holding her hands on her sides as she narrowed her eyes at the creature. Green liquid surround the dripping mess.

Great- and now Painkiller looked like they were about to throw up-

Painkiller meant it when they said they were leaving to go back to the radio tower. To grow food? In THIS freezing weather? They must be crazy...- but mentioning the fact they wanted to give her space and actually try to help..

Fossil gave her a folder on how to make some good fertilizer with chemicals, test tubes and beakers, and a backpack to carry everything in. Oh, right. And some of Carrot's old fashion clothing items for warmth. That was important.

"You look like an elf..." She even mumbled.

They were smart to leave at a good time, when the infected weren't bursting out of cold and ice yet. They probably have never dealt with such cold before... the pain of winter, being useful for once..

But they were gone. And Fossil was alone again.

Now what to do. Study the infected? Go check back on the one frozen in a green ice crystal outside? Fossil sighed. It was more empty now, without Painkiller and their stupid shenanigans.

Was it even smart to let them go do this?

Fossil snatched a bag of pretzels she found lying in the pantry. She slowly walked over to the table near the containment chute. She examined it, watching how it moved and the sounds it made before she was interrupted-

BANG!!!!

She jerked around, the bag of snacks immediately dropping from her hand. The bang came from the door nearby. Fossil stared, bracing for anything. Infected? Painkiller? Maybe even a survivor?
