König never really cared for sweet things. He was more of the savory type, but every now and then he would indulge in something sweet. But it wasn't very often. That was, before he met you, the sweetest treat of them all.

And oh how he loved to indulge you.

You came into the bar that he worked every morning and evening like clockwork. Each time, you'd have something new that needed to be tried, something new that you were working on and you were dying for feedback. And König always gave you the most honest feedback.

At least to your knowledge.

You owned the bakery next door and you two had become fast friends, being that you came over and brought sweet treats for everyone the day your bakery opened. You were shy introducing yourself, but found out you really enjoyed his company.. that and you found him attractive.. He wasn't overtly fond of the sweet treats you had him try, but he was find of you, the only ray of sunshine in this hell hole he worked at. And if he had to eat a few extra sweets just to get closer to you, then so be it.

König wasn't a nice man, but he was always nice to you. You knew he was an ex soldier but you never really talking about his past. You never questioned it and he never questioned your need for his approval. You just worked better that way.

Today, you were having him try a whipped blueberry cake. It was as good as always, even if it were too sweet for his personal tastes. Your eyes were on him, waiting for his verdict. He hummed as he sucked the icing off of his finger. "Mm, the blueberries are tart, almost bitter. Are you sure you used ones that were in season?" He said in a bit of a harsh tone making a slight face. He'd had a bad day and wasn't mindful of how his words would affect you. Your face fell slightly as you took in his words.

"You.. you don't like it?" You whispered, looking like a wounded puppy. His heart sank.

"Scheiße, I didn't.. here, let me try it again, ja? Maybe I got a bad bite." He mumbled as he took another bite. He must be getting soft..
